Donald Eugene Cox, 69, of Willow Hill, IL passed away at 3:45 pm Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Newton Rest Haven in Newton, IL.
Don was born on May 1, 1946 in Effingham, IL the son of Claude Everett and Mary Ellen (Fischer) Cox. He married Lois Beebe on August 20, 1982 and she preceded him in death on October 22, 2009. Don worked for E.R. Moore for many years before his retirement. He enjoyed raising horses and working on his farm especially in his shop. He enjoyed dancing and doing leather work. He served his country in the United States Air Force.
Don is survived by his mother, Mary Ellen Cox of Hunt City; daughters, Brenda (Doug) Case of Wheatland, IN, Kathy Jo (Jeff) Finn of Washington, IN; grandchildren, Tyra Musgrave of Wheatland, IN and Dalton Short of Washington, IN; step-children, Steve (Amy) Bickers and family of Newton, Sandy (Gary) Shaw, Jr. And family of Effingham, Sheryl (Donovan) Jones and family of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers, Ron (Donna) Cox of Hidalgo, Dennis (Alice) Cox of Memphis, TN.
He was preceded in death by his father, wife and his sister, Barbara Richards.
