Robert L. "Bob" Richmond, 91, of Beaumont, died peacefully at home, Wednesday, July 1, 2015, surrounded by his wife and all his children. He was born September 18, 1923, in Wiergate, Texas, to Oma Dickerson and Curtis Richmond, and had been a long time resident of Beaumont.

A proud veteran of World War II, Bob served as a co-pilot in the 404th Bomb Squadron of the United States Army Air Corps, flying B-24's. Stationed in the Aleutian Islands off the coast of Alaska, he flew thirty bombing missions over the Japanese Islands. Following active duty, Bob continued in the Air Force Reserve, reaching the rank of Lt Colonel. He also served in the Beaumont Civil Air Patrol.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Mattie Mae Williams and Hazel Freeman.
A memorial service for Mr. Richmond will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont, followed by burial with military honors at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 3:00 p.m., under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
