MRS. JOHN C. PHILLIPS DIES WEDNESDAY NIGHT: FUNERAL ON FRIDAY

Mrs. John C. Phillips, of South Funk street, died at 9 p. m. Wednesday at the McDonald hospital where she was admitted Monday for treatment. Death followed a serious illness of two and one-half weeks due to a heart ailment. Mrs. Phillips was born in Chicago, October 9, 1882, the daughter of Charles and Catherine (Doehla) Gabel. She and Mrs. Phillips came from Chicago to Warsaw in 1925 and have lived in the vicinity since that time. They operated a grocery store on South Detroit street for a number of years, also a restaurant in Atwood for some time. She was a member of the Christian Science church.

Surviving relatives include her husband, a brother, Charles E. Gabel, of Maywood, Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Phyllis Schoeder, of Chicago.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Friday at the Paul M. Bilby funeral home. Burial will be in the Eden cemetery near Chicago at 2 p. m. Saturday. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p. m. Thursday.
