THOMPSON, Barbara Jean - Of Grand Blanc, age 61, died Thursday, September 2, 1999 at Genesys Hospice, Goodrich. Funeral services will be 1PM Tuesday, September 7, 1999 at Fenton Road Baptist Church, G-4386 Fenton Road with Pastor Steven Hardy officiating. Interment to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be 12-9PM Sunday and Monday at Brown Funeral home, 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association. Mrs. Thompson was born December 25, 1937 in Flint, MI and married Lavern Thompson November 1986 in Grand Blanc. Surviving are: her husband, Lavern; step-children, Steven (Dawn) Thompson of Linden, Alan (Deborah) Thompson of cadillac, Kenneth (Julie) Thompson of Flint, Deborah (Keith) Jackson of Gurnee, IL; mother, Sybil DeMaria of Flint; several step-grandchildren; sisters, Maureen (Dale) McGinns of Flint, Sharon Young of Houghton Lake, Linda (Maynard) Moon of St. Johns, MI; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers. The family would like to express great appreciation for the skillful and compassionate care Barbara always received by the Renal Medical Nurses and staff at Hurley Medical Center. Special thanks also to the staff at Genesys Hospice Center.
