Born April 23, 1922 in Lakeview, SC, Victor was the son of the late John Dewey Spivey and Frances Brewer Spivey. He was married to the late Louise Bryant Spivey. Victor served his country with the United States Army during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was MIA during the war and a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He loved his country and enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening and time spent being around children.
Surviving are four children: Victor Carroll Spivey of Darlington, Patrick “Pat” (Judy) Spivey of Florence, Linda Marsh, and Venita (Chafee) Jones , all of Darlington; grandchildren: Brock (Carolyn) Spivey, Shannon (Dawn) Spivey, Wendy Crowley, Travis DuRant, Chad (Brandi) Jones and Crystal Jones Stanley; seven great-grandchildren; also his sister, Marie S. McManus.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers.
