The remains of Mrs. Susan Stowe Atwater, who died Tuesday at her home in Chicago, arrived in the city Thursday afternoon at 3:55 o'clock via the Chicago & Alton and were taken to the Reynolds undertaking establishment. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home of Mrs. C. Grant Woodman, 1130 West Layfayette avenue, and interment will be in made in Jacksonville cemetery.

Mrs. Atwater was well known in this city and frequently made her temporary home here. She was a resident of New Haven, Conn., and was married to Albert T. Atwater of the same city. She was preceded in death by her husband and three children: Charles A. Atwater of Waldo, Florida, Susie A. Atwater and Ella Atwater King, wife of James T. King of this city. She is survived by two children: William Atwater of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Mrs. E. C. Kingsbury of Chicago, both who accompanied the remains back to this city.

Mrs. Atwater was a member of the Episcopal church and was D.A.R. being affiliated with the Free Love Baldwin Stowe Chapter of Milford, Conn.
