1st Lt Anthony arrived in Vietnam 21 October 1966 and was assigned to Company B, 1st Battalion,16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, USARV.
The lt and 25 other men were killed and 27 wounded during Operation Junction City near Prek Klock. Operation Junction City was an effort to flush out the Vietcong headquarters and push them away from populated areas and into the open where firepower could be more effective. In addition to the 25 killed, 27 were injured.
