Born Jan. 29, 1953, in Concord, she was the daughter of the late Walter Hall and Pansy Adams Ledbetter.
She was educated in the Kannapolis schools and graduated from A. L. Brown High School and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Catawba College in 1993.
Mrs. Hamm was a 2nd and 4th grade elementary school teacher for the Salisbury-Rowan Schools. She taught at Faith and Mt. Ulla Elementary Schools. She attended Nazareth Community Church.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Landrum P. Hamm, Jr. whom she married April 3, 1979; son, David Matthew Hamm and wife Brandy of Brooklet, Ga.; step-sons, George Hamm and wife Ann of Salisbury, Benjamin Hamm and wife Tanya of Louisville, Ky., Bradley Hamm and wife Hiromi Sumiyoshi of Bloomington, Ind.; sister, Judith Harvey and husband Jim of Concord; brother, Gary Ledbetter and wife Joyce of China Grove; three step-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Funeral Services: Will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at Summersett Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mike Shoaf, minister of the Nazareth Community Church. Interment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
Visitation: The family received friends at the Summersett Funeral Home Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m.
