She was born on November 24, 1947 in Lockwood, MO. to Herbert and Martha (Killingsworth) Hembree. Kalia was the youngest of five siblings; having four older brothers.
Her family moved to Wichita, KS where she spent most of her childhood. They moved back to Greenfield when she was in the 8th grade. They built The Dairy Isle, and she spent her high school years working there. Kalia graduated from Greenfield High School in 1965. Shortly thereafter she took classes at Queen City Beauty College in Springfield, MO. She would often come home with a new hair color for herself and her poodles. Upon completion of beauty school she owned and operated her own shop in Greenfield, MO.
Kalia was united in marriage on June 21, 1969 to Max Lynn Orr. They made their home on the family farm northwest of Mt. Vernon, MO, where they resided for 46 years.
In 1977, her parents opened another restaurant in Greenfield, the Country Villa. She worked with her family in this business until 1991. Kalia then worked at Casey's General Store in Miller, MO.
Kalia is survived by her husband, Max Orr; her son, Randy Orr and his wife Sara; and her daughter, Michelle Cloud and her husband Chris. Kalia felt very blessed to have six grandchildren, Kara Cloud, Kaitlyn Cloud, Kallie Cloud, Sean Orr, Benjamin Orr, and Leah Orr. She is also survived by one brother, Tom Hembree.
Kalia was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Martha Hembree; and her brothers, Jerry, Charles, and Don.
Burial in Miller Memorial Gardens.
