On the morning of Friday, July 3, 2015, we lost our Father and best friend, Allen Deward Aldridge. A friend to all that knew him and was respected by all.

Allen was born February 7, 1924, in Boone, North Carolina, a son of the late Robert Aldridge and Minerva Townsend Aldridge.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving companion, Julia Belle Drumheller Aldridge on September 5, 2008.

He was a retired brick mason, a World War II Army Veteran and a faithful member of Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church at Faber.

He is survived by his dedicated daughter, Nanette A. Truslow of Faber; his devoted sons, Michael W. Aldridge (Marina) of Shipman and Harry A. (Icky) Aldridge (Mary) of Faber; three sisters, Udee Payne, Dixie Fields, and Erma Roberts; four brothers, Reed, Buddy, Billy and Hugh Aldridge; his loving grandchildren, Amanda A. Schamp (Brian), Robert Aldridge (April) Stuart Aldridge (Sharon) Graham Aldridge (Nicole), Ashley Aldridge, Julianna Truslow and Austin Truslow; and great grandchildren, Alexandra, Justin, Gracin, McKenzie, Payton, Eli, Reid and Lexi.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2015, at Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church in Faber with the Rev. Jim Wilson officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends at all times at the family residence and suggests that those wishing to make memorial contributions consider the Mt.
