Grace M. Abraham, 95, formerly of Elgin passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011 in Woodstock. She was born April 8, 1916 in Oak Park, Ill., the daughter of Michael and Grace Schukies. Grace was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother devoted first to her family and to her church.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, Aug. 22 at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin to St. Joseph Catholic Church for Mass at 11:00 A.M. Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and Monday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services at the funeral home.(excerpts Daily Herald News)

Grace M. Abraham, 95, formerly of Elgin passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011 in Woodstock. She was born April 8, 1916 in Oak Park, Ill., the daughter of Michael and Grace Schukies. Grace was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother devoted first to her family and to her church.

Surviving are her 4 children, Jean Miller, Grace Anne (Robert) Phelps, George R. Abraham and Mary Kay (Donald) Brisch, 10 grandchildren, Susan (Henry) Zeisel, Cheryl (Michael) Bouhuys, Mark (Sheila) Miller, Theresa (Glenn) Campbell, Deborah (Craig) Einhorn, Michael (Gena) Phelps, Cynthia Phelps (Kenneth Noesen), Sarah (Anthony) Forster, Colleen (Ryan) MacDonald and Lindsay Brisch, 15 great grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Amanda, Kody, Kelly, Alex, Marissa, Kylie, Nathaniel, Morgan, Amy, Ashlynn, Dylan, Brennan and Derek.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George E. Abraham in 1998, her brothers, Frank and George Schukies and her son in law, Glenn M. Miller.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, Aug. 22 at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin to St. Joseph Catholic Church for Mass at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Elgin.
