Frank Edward Hernandez, born on June 15, 1956 went to be with the Lord on July 4, 2015 at the age of 59.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Acosta Hernandez, Sr. and Mary Villaseñor Hernandez. Brother, Robert Alvino Hernandez and his beloved first wife and mother of his children, Molly Hernandez.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Barbara J. Sanchez; daughter, Angelica Dolores Hernandez; sons, Frank David Hernandez and wife Jackie, Javier Jacob Hernandez and wife Amanda; step-daughter, Jaclyn Castillo and husband Stephen; sister, Benita Soto; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grand child; numerous extended family and friends.
Frank joined the Army after high school and served during the Vietnam War and spent time overseas in Korea.
He continued his civilian career as an aircraft maintenance mechanic until his retirement from Civil Service.
He was an avid baseball fan and was a member of the very successful South San Baseball Team. He continued to be actively involved with the sport as a little league Umpire. He always enjoyed spending time at family gatherings and Barbeques. He will be forever loved and dearly missed.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, beginning at 11:00 A.M. at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1918 Palo Alto Rd., SAT 78211). Recitation of the Rosary will commence at 12:00 Noon followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 12: 45 P.M.
Procession will depart following the Mass for interment at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Military Honors. Arrival time: 2:30 P.M.
