Richard E. Ashby Sr., 68, of Phoenix, NY, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, after a long illness. He retired in 2002 from Eagle Comtronics and was previously employed at Miller Brewing Co., Fulton. Mr. Ashby was predeceased by his wife, Judy (Hamm), in 1996; his daughter, Cindy Giddings, in 2004; and his granddaughter, Amanda Giddings, in 1988.
Surviving: his companion, Bonnie Reed; three sons, Richard (Traudi) Ashby, Randy (Donna) Ashby, both of Phoenix, Steven (Andrea) Ashby of Pulaski; three daughters, Vickey (Dorrie) Morrison, Tammy (Chris) Furco, Judy (Sam) Tassone, all of Phoenix; four brothers, John, George, Al and Frank Ashby; two sisters, Charlotte Barryman and Lillian Murray; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Congregational Church, UCC at 43 Bridge St., Phoenix, with the Rev. Lauri Craig officiating. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
