Myrtle's entire life was dedicated to God and her family. Her most treasured times were spent with her family on special occasions. She spent hours each day reading and studying her bible. Her special gift in the family was cooking. She was a fabulous cook, starting from an early age cooking for her whole family. She took great pride in making sure there was something special for everyone at each meal. No one made biscuits as fine as Myrtle. She loved teaching her children and grandchildren her style of cooking, "a pinch of this and a pinch of that," which no one can duplicate. Everyone looked forward to her special holiday and birthday meals.
In 1954 she married the love of her life, Wayne A. Chisholm, a geologist from Washington state. They spent the next 46 years together before his passing in July of 2000. During their marriage they lived in several states: Colorado, South Dakota, Washington DC, Illinois, and eventually settled in California where they lived for the last 50 years.
Myrtle is survived by two sons, three grandchildren and one great-granchild. She has 8 brothers and sisters living in South Carolina, and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a service for her at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, South Carolina on July 11, 2015. The family wishes to thank all who knew and cared for her during her past illness. She was so loved and she waits in heaven. Hilgenfeld Mortuary
