She was born on January 10, 1938 to Marion Jones and Mary (McDonald) Martin in Columbus, IN. She married Kenneth LeRoy Ellsworth on Aug. 25, 1954, a marriage that lasted 49 years. She spent her first few married years in South Dakota then moved her young family to Iowa where they spent the next 30 years. She lived for several years in Georgia, before settling in Austin, Texas nearly 20 years ago. Barbara was a strong, independent, kind and generous wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt who loved spending time with her family and friends. She dabbled in sculpting and ceramics, macramé and quilting, knitting and crochet, but painting was her passion.
