Krissa was my friend for many years. I had known her since elementary school through high school. We fell back in touch when were were single Moms and living in the same neighborhood. I knew at that time that Krissa was an addict and I knew she was struggling. That was before I knew I was an addict. I tried to help her, but unless you are an addict yourself you can't understand. I wish so many times that when I finally got clean that I had called her and become her friend again. She was so pretty. She had the most beautiful blue eyes. She was a joy to be around until things started getting really bad. I hope her suicide will help someone get help for their addictions and will teach people to not overlook someone in pain. It's our jobs to encourage one another. I hope her children will grow up and understand she wasn't being selfish, she really thought she was doing it because she loved them so much, but didn't want to shame them anymore. Depression along with addiction are diseases. There is not a cure only a strong support system and faith in a higher power. Be someone's support system. Be someones prayer warrior. Be there even if you don't understand.

Krissa Wilson Williams, 46, went to her heavenly home, Sunday, July 5, 2015. She was born July 30, 1968 to Harold Kenneth and Cathryn Barnes Wilson. She was a member of Orchard United Methodist Church.
