Mr. and Mrs. Howard Freese Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Freese, Sr. attended funeral services for Charles R. Lang in Casper Tuesday afternoon. The deceased was killed in action in Europe during the war and was a brother of Mrs. Freese, Jr.

Pvt. Chas. Lane Listed Missing

Message Received By Mother

Pvt. Charles R. Lane, 19, son of Mrs. Clara B. Muir, 1016 Boxelder, has been missing in action in France since July 25, according to a message received by his mother from the war department.

Private Lane was born in Midwest and attended Midwest and Casper schools graduating from NCHS in 1943. Following his graduation he was employed for a short time at the Naval reserve in Salt Creek field and entered the armed forces on October 15, 1943.

Attached to an infantry regiment he has been overseas since June 5, 1944, and was stationed in England for a short time.

His father is J. T. Lane of Detroit, Mich.

Casper Soldier Is Killed in Action

Pvt. Charles R. Lane, 18, son of Mrs. Clara B. Muir, 1016 South Boxelder, who previously had been reported missing in action since July 25, has been killed in action, according to word received here by his mother.

The telegram from the war department stated that the Casper soldier had met death in France July 25.

Private Lane, son of J. T. Lane of Detroit, Mich., was born in Midwest, and attended Midwest and Casper schools, graduating from NCHS in 1943. Prior to his enlistment in the armed services Oct. 15, 1943, he was employed at the Teapot Dome naval reserve. During his high school attendance he was a member of the ROTC.

He had been overseas since June 5, 1943, and was attached to an infantry regiment.

Besides his parents he is survived by his sister, Rae Nell of the family home, and brother, J. D. Lane.

Body of Pvt. Lane Arrives in U. S.

The body of another of Casper's war dead has arrived in the United States.

According to a dispatch from the American Graves Registration division the body of Pvt. Charles R. Lane arrived in New York aboard the U. S. Army transport Lawrence Victory.

He is the son of Mrs. Clara B. Muir, 1016 South Boxelder, and J. T. Lane of Detroit, Mich.

Body of Pvt. Lane Arrives in U. S.
