Obituary for Herbert F. Schearer III
Herbert F Schearer III, 77, passed away on July 7, 2015 at his home in Havertown, PA. Born October 10, 1937, he was the son of the late Herbert Schearer Jr. of Philadelphia.
He graduated from Haverford Senior High School in 1957. He went on to serve in the Merchant Marines and the Navy, where he was honorably discharged in 1962.
He worked for over twenty five years at the Bryn Mawr Hospital before retiring in 1991.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Brigid A. Schearer (nee Gallagher), 74; son Martin Schearer, 44 and his wife Susan Schearer (nee Stafford), 39; daughter Dawn Neiley (nee Schearer), 43; son Raymond Schearer, 41 and his wife Heidi Schearer (nee Doltz), 41.
In these trying times let’s try to remember one of his quotes to help us all get through it together: “inch by inch is a cinch, but yard by yard is difficult.”
