Garold married twice. He first married in 1939 to Helen DAVIS. A son and daughter were born to the union before the marriage ended. Garold secondly married Josephine "Jo" LITTY in 1958; Jo died in 2010. During his working years, Garold was president of Allied Industrial Workers Local 816. After he retired, he enjoyed gardening. He was survived by his daughter and son, three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
