SANDLIN, Opal Age 81, of Trenton, passed away at Garden Manor on Saturday August 21, 2004 at 4:04 p.m. She was born in Clay County, Kentucky, on January 14, 1923, the daughter of James and Betty (Money) Ledford. Opal was a homemaker. On June 28, 1944, in Williamsburg, Kentucky, she married Charles Sandlin. She is survived by her husband, Charles Sandlin of Trenton; a son, Larry Sandlin and his wife Diane of Byrdstown, Tennessee; three daughters, Jo Ann Fry and her husband Richard of Trenton, Carol Williams of Trenton and Shari Hazelwood and her husband Brian of Somerville; nine grandchildren, Fred (Jeana) Diesbach, Benjy (Tracy) Diesbach, Larry (Marla) Sandlin, Scott Sandlin, Boyd (Tracie) Williams, Jeannine Williams, Jon Hazelwood, Laura Hazelwood and Hannah Joh Hazelwood; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Frank Ledford of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Robert Boyd Williams Jr; three brothers, Elbert Ledford, Pearl Ledford and Fred Ledford; and two sisters, Iola Bishop and Audrey Hensley. Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue on Wednesday, August 25, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Tim Mullins of Greenhills United Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the south east wing of Garden Manor for their care and concern.
