Mr. Gregory Dale Mitchell, age 50 of Summerville, GA passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Mr. Mitchell was born November 3, 1964 in Marietta, GA. Dale was a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans, former Commanderof Camp 507, bass player of Vintage Band, a Certified Fire Fighter, Correctional Peace Officers Foundations, studied genealogy researching his ancestors, love to read, avid historian, and enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of the Pennville Church of Christ.
Dale was preceded in death by son, Brian Austin Mitchell; and father, James Mitchell.
Dale is survived by wife, Angela Mitchell; mother, Edna Mitchell; daughter, Stephanie (Bryan) Griffin; sister, Tammy Campbell; grandchildren, Jillian Griffin, David Griffin, and Lylah Griffin; nephew, Alex (Elizabeth) Taylor, Madison and Blakely Campbell; great-nephew, Cash Taylor.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Pennville Church of Christ with Minister Robbie Eversole, Stan Hammond, and Chaplain Darryl Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
Dale will lie-in-state Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends after 6 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Mike Flippo, Alex Taylor, Roger Cothran, Caleb Johnston, Kenneth Gilreath, and Jamie Cavin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hays State Prison Maintenance Department and Son of the Confederate Veterans Camp 507.
