Henry died as a Sgt. in Company E., 89th N.Y. Inf. Reg. of typhoid fever. He enlisted in Norwich, N.Y. on Sept. 21,1861 as a Private. Henry married Harriet M. Willcox in 1859. They had a daughter Mary E., who died Dec.6,1928 in Brooklyn, Kings County, N.Y. Henry's name is listed in the official burial records as a "Remembrance" plot, which means he is not buried here, but a flag is placed in a marker every year in memory of him. He is buried elsewhere.
From a local newspaper: Two daughters of Rueben Willcox, Mianda and Harriet, were left widows with several small children during the war. Their husbands, Ryland Harvey and Henry Button, found graves on southern soil.
