Rebecca S. "Beckie" (Davis) Bates, 62, of Huron, passed away unexpectedly late Wednesday evening, July 8, 2015, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.

She was born Aug. 14, 1952, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., the daughter of Paul Francis Davis and Ruth Ann (Lenhart) Miller. She was a graduate of Sandusky High School Class of 1970. Beckie went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the Mount Carmel School of Nursing in Columbus.

Beckie was deeply faithful in her Christian faith as she expressed by giving to others before herself. In her earlier days, in the '60s, she was a member of the Sandusky Eaglettes. She also loved to spend time with her family and her dogs. Beckie also enjoyed gardening, reading, spending time around her pool, and going on road trips, which may include stopping at a garage sale or a flea market, which as a collector, she was known to do and enjoyed doing it.

She is survived by a daughter, Sarah A. Bates of Huron; a son, Clinton J. Bates of Cleveland; a sister, Laura A. Miller of Vermilion; two brothers, John D. Davis of Milan and Robert P. (Suella) Davis of Sandusky; and nieces and nephews.
