Maria Lourdes Pablita Chavez, 84, a lifetime resident of Torreon, NM, passed away Saturday June 3, 2006, at her home with her loving family beside her. She was born March 13, 1922, to Antonio O. and Concepcion (Vigil) Chavez in Torreon, NM. She married Fidel Gabaldon Chavez on June 3, 1938 in Torreon, NM, he preceded in death on July 17, 1998. She was a member of the San Antonio Catholic Church in Torreon, NM and a member of the Rosary Altar Society. Mrs. Chavez is survived by seven sons, Richard Chavez and his wife Socorro, Leon Chavez, Tercio Chavez, Leroy Chavez and his wife Irene, Gilbert Chavez and his wife Maxine, Fidel Chavez Jr., and George Chavez and his wife Rita; three daughters, Concepcion Candelaria and her husband Leroy, Rosemary Chavez, and Angela Valenzuela, and her husband Jose; two brothers Joe Chavez, and Tony Chavez; three sisters Amalia Tafoya, Melba Vigil, and Rose Salas; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Juan and Thresa. Twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Natividad Chavez, and several brothers and sisters. She will be remembered as a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. A rosary will be recited Sunday June 4, 2006—6:00 PM, and a mass will be celebrated Monday June 5, 2006—10:00 AM both at San Antonio Catholic Church in Torreon, NM with Father Richard Olona officiating. Burial will follow at the Torreon Cemetery in Torreon, NM. Pallbearers will be all her grandsons, and Honorary Pallbearers will be all her granddaughters. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to:
