Robert H. Luethi, age 84, of Holcombe, passed away from a stroke on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chippewa Falls.He was born June 13, 1921 in Big Bend Township, Rusk County, the son of John and Hazel (Peaslee) Luethi. He married Hazel Wonn on July 4, 1962. He farmed and hauled milk; and then in 1941, he served in the U.S. Army during WW II, and was honorably discharged in Nov. 1945. He then farmed and worked for the Rusk County Highway Department for 10 years. He joined the Operating Engineers, where he worked until his retirement in 1986. After his retirement he ran the grader for Washington Township and farmed. He was a life member of Ladysmith VFW Post 2490.He is survived by his wife, Hazel; daughter, Jane Luethi of Hawkins; son, Robert J. (Pam) Luethi of Holcombe; sisters, Dorothy Holloway of Holcombe; Alice (Dick) Josi of Ladysmith; grandchildren, Robert P. Barron (Navy), Japan, Jessica Barron of Minnesota, Jeremiah Barron of Ingram and Megan Luethi, Holcombe.He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters.A funeral service for Robert will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2006, at Island Lake Church of Christ with Pastor David Willingham officiating. Private family interment will be held at a later date.The Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Eau Claire is serving the family.
