Margaret Cecilia Hagewood, 84, died Sept. 14 at Queen of the Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness. She will be remembered for her love and devotion for her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a cornerstone of her family and loved spending time with them, sewing and cooking for them.
She was born in Poplar Bluff, Mo., on April 2, 1913, to William and Frances Bush. She grew up in Missouri and married Earnest Hagewood in 1934.
She lived in Napa for 50 years and worked for many families as a domestic housekeeper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest; her son, William (Sonny); her grandsons, Dennis and Jim; and four brothers, Charles, Bill, David and Bob Bush. She is survived by her sons, Mr. and Mrs. Rick Hagewood and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Hagewood; her daughters, Carol Baker and Cheryl Silva; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by her sister and best friend, Faith Malone; her brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Densil Bush, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Bush; and numerous nieces and nephews.
