Isabel R. Serrazina 1973 - 2014

Springfield Isabel R. Serrazina, 40, of Indian Orchard, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2013.

She was born in Marinha Grande, Portugal on February 6, 1973 to the late Arthur R. and Emilia (Roxo) Serrazina. Isabel was a 1991 graduate of Commerce High School and attended Springfield Technical Community College. She worked for Springfield Housing Authority for over 21 years, recently as a purchasing manager. Isabel participated in the Pioneer Valley Leadership Program and was a mentor for Springfield Public School System for a couple of years.

She leaves her five brothers, Luis M.L. and his wife Trindade of Ludlow, Francisco J.R. and his wife Maria of Springfield, Fernando M.R. and his wife Fatima, Rui R. and his wife Ana, both of Ludlow, and Jose R. and his wife Marie of Springfield; two sisters, Maria L. and Gracinda R. Serrazina , both of Indian Orchard; her sister-in-law Maria A. Serrazina; her godfather, Joe Serrazina of Ludlow; her godmother, Maria Roxo of Portugal; 13 nieces and nephews, Kassandra and Anthony Ferreira, Daniel, Carlos and his wife Monica, Diane, Brian, Erica, Vincent, Alex, Nikolas, and Andrew Serrazina, and Filipe and Sofia of Portugal; great niece Giuliana; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and multiple friends and co-workers.

Isabel was predeceased by her brother Joaquim "Jack" R. Serrazina in 2001.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 starting at 8:45am from the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main St., Indian Orchard, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1023 Parker St, Springfield, at 10am. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 10th from 5-8pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to American Diabetes Association, P.O.
