Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 26, at a noon Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Lydia E. Blanchet Mauduit, 88, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at La Plantation Retirement Community in Denham Springs. Entombment will be in St. Mary Magdalen Mausoleum in Abbeville. The Rev. Michael Keith Landry, associate pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard, will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Emilee D'Aunoy and Mignon Mauduit. Lectors will be Aimee Buteaux and Trey Mauduit. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing "Angel," "Be Not Afraid," "Let There Be Peace On Earth," "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman" and "You'll Never Walk Alone" for the services. Survivors include a son, Dale A. Mauduit and his wife, Jan, of Denham Springs; two grandchildren, Doug Mauduit and Aimee Buteaux and her husband, Trey; three great grandchildren, Emilee D'Aunoy, Mignon Mauduit and Gavin Buteaux; and three stepgreat-grandchildren, Trevin, Blaine and Kelsy Buteaux. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Alfred Mauduit; parents, Milton Joseph and Nellie Elizabeth Broussard Blanchet; a brother, Abner Blanchet; and a granddaughter, Renee Mauduit. A native of Lafayette and a resident of Norco for most of her life, Lydia Mauduit was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by family, friends and all who knew her. The family requests that visitation be observed at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
