Mr. James “Jim” Henry Cheatham, III age 80 of Brentwood, TN passed away July 12, 2015. Jim served our country as a US Navy Corpsman during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He was also the Captain of the Bonhomme Richard Aircraft Carrier softball team. He and his wife Lorraine worked together for 16 years for Watson & Taylor in Bryan, TX. Jim was a proud gunsmith who also enjoyed fishing in different bass tournaments, but most of all Jim loved being with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruby Cheatham and sister, Elizabeth Ann Abercrombie. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Lorraine Cheatham of Brentwood, TN; sons, Jim (Brenda) Cheatham of Aleda, TX and John (Kim) Cheatham of Pearl Harbor, HI; daughter, Lorri (John) Thompson of Franklin, TN; grandchildren, Brian Hiatt, Candace Jenkins, Jennifer Thompson, Blane, Nicole, Maddie, Joshua and Josiah Cheatham; great grandchildren, Dax and Declan Jenkins; nephews, Tony and Andy Abercrombie and Ann French of Houston, TX.
Interment, Middle Tennessee Veterans’ Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
