Husband of Anna Barbara Wachter Berz, Married June 11, 1901 in Wayne County, Nebraska. Jacob arrived on December 25, 1889 in New Orleans where he was a crew member on a freighter who jumped ship, going from there to Davenport, Iowa to live with an uncle & aunt. In 1892, he went to Nebraska and worked on farms and in elevators. Jacob & Anna had 8 children in all, one whose name was George, died in childhood somewhere between Nebraska & Minnesota. The other seven lived a properous life and produced many offspring. Due to the mystery of his unsolved past, we the offspring of the "Rohwer's" are a line of descendant's by their own, and proud to bear the name.
