ABBOTT, Violet May - Age 91, of Fenton, died Monday, June 16, 2003 at Genesys Health Park. A memorial service will be held 11AM Friday, June 20, 2003 at Fenton United Methodist Church, Dr. David Truran officiating. Private interment will be held at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to The Heifer Project, Fenton United Methodist Church or Christian Childrens Fund. Violet was born October 4, 1911 in Brazil, the daughter of Sidney and Charlotte (Williams) Trevarrow. She was a 1929 graduate of Flint Central High School. Violet married Clair E. Abbott on November 26, 1931 in Saginaw; he preceded her in death on July 12, 1985. Mrs. Abbott was a member of Fenton United Methodist Church, a life member of The Fenton Music Club, Past-President of the United Methodist Womens Organization, Peace Circle. She was a church choir member for 72 years, most of them spent at Fenton United Methodist Church. Surviving are: son, Miles Ray Abbott of Fenton; granddaughter, Sandra and husband Craig Matzinger of Charleston, SC; great-grandson, Keegan; great-granddaughter, Natalia; sister-in-law, Harriet Gilchrist; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. Abbott was also preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Sandra and Charlotte; brother, Fred Gilchrist; sister, Irene VanSlyke; brother-in-law, Melvin VanSlyke;
