FRITZ KELLOGG'S death Aug. 23, 1991, in a single car accident in Vermont, came as a shock to all who knew him and especially to members of the Class who had enjoyed seeing him at our 65th reunion in June. The accident occurred as Fritz was driving to join Lucy at their vacation home in Grafton, Vt. Fritz came to Princeton from Choate and was a well known and popular member of '26. He majored in art and archaeology, and was a member of Charter. On graduation, he joined Apothecaries Hall (now Hubbard Hall Inc.), the chemical business founded by his great-grandfather. Fritz was president of the company from 1953 to 1960, and chairman from 1960 until he died.
Fritz was an outstanding citizen of Waterbury, Conn., and served his community in many ways. He had been chairman of the Community Fund and, at the time of his death, was a lifetime trustee of ColbySawyer College, chairman emeritus of St. Margaret's-McTernan School, and senior warden of St. John's Episcopal Church.
A tribute paid to Fritz on his death voiced the feeling of the Waterbury community: "his personality touched us all, his charm, his humility, and his concern for people."
Fritz served in WWII as a Navy lieutenant.
Fred and Lucy Templeton were married in 1928. We extend our profound sympathy to Lucy and to their children, Cynthia Parsons, Charles Kellogg '53, Peter Kellogg, and Judith Rowley; to 12 grandchildren, including Molly Kellogg 87; and to seven great grandchildren.
