Claude H. Bohn passed away at his home in Green Bay at the age of 90 on Saturday, July, 11, 2015, peacefully with his two sons by his side. He was born on November 10, 1924, in Green Valley, WI, to the late Leonard & Myrtle (Hudson) Bohn.
Claude left high school to enlist, at age 17, in the U.S. Marine Corps on January 22, 1942. He served during WWII in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1946, fighting on the front line in Guadalcanal and Okinawa.
He married Marian Martin on October 19, 1946. Claude and Marian celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary before she preceded him in death on August 31, 2010.
Claude was in electrical sales and was employed by Morley-Murphy Company. At age 65, he started his own business, Bohn Co.
He was a member of the Washington Lodge #21 Free and Accepted Masons, Beja Shrine and Beja Super-Cycle Unit of Green Bay, and Valley of Green Bay Scottish-Rite. Claude was an avid skier and sports fan, especially of UWGB softball and he could always be found at his children's sporting events. He loved traveling with his wife, Marian and could say he's been to all 50 states and six of the seven continents. Claude shared many of his travels and past times with his friends over coffee. He was passionate about deer hunting and enjoyed spending the past 65 years at deer camp with family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Paul (Shelley) Bohn, Green Bay; and Thomas (Karen) Bohn, Seymour; five grandchildren, Katie (Chris) Kockler, Mesa, Arizona; Bill (Mandy) Bohn, Tim (Sammi) Bohn, both of Black Creek; Alex Bohn and Caslin Bohn both of Green Bay; five great-granchildren, Martin, Trevor, Gracelynn, Audrina and Ethan.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marian Anna Bohn and his son, William Martin Bohn.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, Green Bay, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a prayer service and Masonic Service starting at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at New Life United Methodist Church, 721 Pleasant Way, Seymour, from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 10:30 am with Pastor Loretta Waegli officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established honoring the Angelica United Methodist Church in Claude's name.
