- Caitlan Diane Doty, 19, of Barnsdall, died Thursday morning, July 16, 2015 in a traffic accident near Nelagoney in Osage County.

Caitlan was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 7, 1996 the daughter of Tiffany Dawn (Carpenter) and Billy Keith Doty Jr. She grew up and received her education in Barnsdall, graduating from Barnsdall High School in 2014.

She had been President of the Leo Club in Barnsdall and also was a volunteer working with people with disabilities. She had also earned a Black Belt in Karate and attended Tri County Tech in Bartlesville and received her CNA. During her senior year in high school she was employed as a drive thru teller at the American Heritage Bank in Barnsdall. She attended the University of Central Oklahoma for one year and was currently a sales associate in the housewares department at Dillard's in Bartlesville. She attended the Osage Indian Baptist Church in Pawhuska.

Survivors include her fiancé, Norris Allred of Pawhuska, her father and step mother, Billy Keith Doty Jr. and Mindy Doty of Barnsdall, her mother, Tiffany Dawn Carpenter of Barnsdall, her bonus parents, Teddy and Sarah Galligher of Barnsdall, seven brothers and sisters, Billy Doty III, Emma Galligher, Kelsey Doty, Maci Doty, Sydney Galligher, Sophia Galligher and Teddy Galligher all of Barnsdall, her maternal grandmother, Vicki Carpenter of Barnsdall, her paternal grandfather, Bill Doty of Eustis, Florida, her paternal grandmother, Cindy Halford of Barnsdall, her maternal great grandmothers, Patsy Carpenter Mitchell of Barnsdall and Pat Kindred of Bartlesville. She was preceded in death by her PA Pa, Tim Carpenter, her maternal great grandfathers, Ronald Kindred and Rex Carpenter and her paternal great grandparents, Wilma and Charles King and June Miller.

A Barnsdall teenager is dead after a crash with a box truck in Osage County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol says.

An OHP report says 19-year-old Caitlan Diane Doty’s Hyundai Sonata collided with a box truck driven by Lynn Nicole Parker, 23, of Sapulpa, on Oklahoma 11, 2 miles east of Oklahoma 99. It happened just before 11 a.m. on Thursday.

Doty was southbound on County Road 2561 and Parker was westbound on highway 11. When Doty turned to go eastbound onto the highway without stopping at the stop sign, she was hit by the box truck, the report says.

Doty was pronounced dead at the scene, and Parker was treated for a broken wrist at a Bartlesville hospital.

According to the report, Doty was not wearing a seatbelt. Parker was properly restrained, the investigating trooper said.
