Mrs. Della D. West, 69, of Ottumwa Route 2 died at 1 p.m. Aug. 8 in St. Joseph Hospital.
She was born April 5, 1913, in Centerville to Edward and Cora Roby Russell. She had worked for Ottumwa Hospital and Holiday Inn. She was a member of Ottumwa Baptist Temple. She married Gilbert H. West on April 11, 1948, in Chicago, Ill.
Survivors: her husband; sons Richard Bennett of Ottumwa, Russell Bennett of Sigourney, Roy West of Clarksville, Tenn., and Gary and Robert West of Ottumwa; daughters Alice Marts of Ottumwa and Delores Taylor of Clarksville; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother Doyle Russell of Centerville; and sisters Uldene Jackson of LaPlata, Mo., and Berna Wilcox of Wilmington, Ill.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at her church, the Rev. A.D. Pringle officiating. Burial: Shaul Cemetery. Pallbearers: Steve and James Marts and Richard, Kevin, Troy and Marcus Bennett.
Visitation: after Tuesday noon at Johnson Funeral Chapel. The casket will be taken from the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday and closed as the service begins.
