Joseph A. Capalbo 71 of Brick passed away on Sunday July 12 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in Montclair, NJ and raised in Little Falls, NJ. Joseph was a self-employed carpenter before becoming a police officer for the City of Newark. Joseph retired after 25 years of service at the rank of Assistant Chief. Upon retirement Joseph worked for Area Wide Protective and Kline Construction. He loved spending time with his family and his two dogs Lady and Petey.
Joseph was predeceased by his parents James and Phyllis Capalbo and his brother Carmine Capalbo.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years Maria Vaught-Capalbo of Brick; three daughters Dawn Capalbo- Buteau of Florida, Martina Mojica of Boston, MA and Maria Capalbo of Brick. Joseph is also survived by two brothers Dennis Capalbo and James Capalbo; a sister Sandra McVeigh; his mother-in-law Annetta Vaught of Brielle, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation Friday July 17 from 4-8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ. A funeral service will be here Friday evening at 7 pm. Burial will be private.
