Loren was united in marriage to Alice Wright on Nov. 21, 1952, in Sioux City. Loren had worked on the farm before moving to Sioux City after marriage. He began as a traveling salesman in 1952 for the Dennis Supply Co. Loren and Alice were members of Morningside Lutheran while they lived in Sioux City. In Sioux Falls, they were members at Our Saviour Lutheran. In 2005, they moved to Columbia to be near family.

Loren was a member at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Columbia. In 2008, Alice passed on to heaven.

Loren enjoyed camping with family, especially when they were able to camp in their RV with their camping club. He was a super cook and he made the best apple pies! He loved to watch baseball games, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed family potlucks and was loved by everyone who knew him. He enjoyed spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
