Mr. Walters, 77, died Thursday, July 13, 2006 at his home in Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Walters was born September 18, 1928 in Artesia, New Mexico; the son of John E. Walters and Pearl (Waters) Walters.
On Feb. 6, 1947 he was married to Connie Harrison in Roswell, N.M. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia.
He was a lineman for Mountain Bell Telephone and dispatcher for the fire department. He was a member of Hermosa Drive Church of Christ, and the Telephone Pioneers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Survivors include his wife Connie Walters of the family home; son Tom Walters and wife Mario of Sedalia, Colorado; brother Burt Walters and wife Teri of Visalia, Calif.; sister Lorene Walters Langley of Roswell; grandchildren Jennifer Walters of Seattle, Wash., Robin Goodrich and husband Lance of Artesia, Megan Walters of Denver, Colo., Kelly Walters of Denver, and Andrew Walters of El Cajon, Calif.; great-grandchild Tharen Goodrich of Artesia.
