Edwin Russell Anderson, 91, Longtime Aberdeen resident and former truck driver for Puget Sound Truck Lines, died at his home in Aberdeen on Saturday morning, October 11, 2014.
Ed was born on May 3, 1923 in Manitoba, Canada to Peter S. and Nanny (Lind) Anderson. He graduated from high school in Winnipeg, Canada in 1939. Edwin married Mary M. ‘Marge’ Batenchuk in Winnipeg in 1949 and together they moved to Aberdeen that same year. Marge passed away on June 3, 1996.
Edwin worked for Puget Sound Truck Lines and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, travel and he was an avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed watching the Seattle Mainers.
Ed is survived by his daughter-in-law, Barbara Anderson of Central Park; four grandchildren: Mitchell (Becca) Anderson of Aberdeen, Craig Anderson of San Diego, CA. Kristina (Todd) Perrault of Olympia, WA., and James Anderson of Olympia, WA. Edwin also has two surviving great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Anderson in 2005 and a brother Alfred Anderson.
Per his request, there will be no services.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
