Annie Mae Southern, age 90 of Talbott, departed this life to her Heavenly home, Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

Annie Mae was born March 12, 1925 in Grainger County to Louis and Lucrita Heck.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Southern; daughters, Barbara Sue Bretz and Patricia June Hayes; brothers, Carl Heck and Tommy Heck; and son-in-law, Roger Bretz.

Survivors include her son, Joe (Carolyn) Southern; son-in-law, Donnie Hayes; grandchildren, Jeff (April) Hayes, Traci (Ron) Sargent, Jason Southern, and Kathy Hayes; great-grandchildren, Ashlie Pridgen, Alli Sargent, Cole Sargent, Kenadi Sargent, Laurel Hayes, Victoria Hayes, Aubrey Hayes, Keaton Hayes, Isabella Hayes, and Gideon Hayes; great-great-grandchild, Kinslie Pridgen.

The family would like to thank the following employee’s at Smoky Mountain Hospice for their care and friendship, Glenna, Peggy, Evelyn, Stacy, Sherry, Jessica, Rita, and Dr. Green.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Mayes Family Services, Downtown Chapel. Family and friends will gather Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Bethesda Cemetery for a 3:00 p.m. graveside service with Donnie Hayes officiating.
