Mrs. Anna Ruth (Otter) Holdcroft, age 72, of Lamb, Indiana, entered this life on August 5, 1942, on Lost Fork in Switzerland County, Indiana, the daughter of the late, Royland A. "Roll" and Daisy (McFarland) Otter. She was raised at Five Points and was a graduate of the Vevay High School. Anna was united in marriage on June 7, 1959, in Switzerland County, Indiana, to the late, James Russell "Jimmy" Holdcroft and to this union arrived two daughters, Tamara and Ginger and a son, James to bless their home. Anna and Jimmy shared 32 years of marriage together until he passed away on November 1, 1991. Anna was a 37 year public servant at the Switzerland County Court House where she was currently the Highway Clerk for the Switzerland County Highway Department. She had also worked in the Auditor's Office & the Treasurer's Office for the Switzerland County Court House. She was a former cook for the Switzerland County High School, for many years. Anna donated her time to the junior 4-H program for 10 years, where she developed and mentored many children. She was a member of the Switzerland County Democrat Party and the Spring Branch Baptist Church. Anna resided in the Lamb community for the past 50 years. In her early years of life, Anna enjoyed playing on the Vevay softball league for many years. Anna also enjoyed gardening, especially raising strawberries, farming and stripping tobacco. Anna will be dearly missed by her family, friends and her community. Anna died at 9:32 am, Thursday, July 16, 2015, Patton Hollow Road and Highway 56 near Lamb, Indiana.

Anna will be dearly missed by her daughters: Tamara Holdcroft of Vevay, IN & Ginger Ann Peters & her husband: David of Vevay, IN; her son: James Holdcroft of Vevay, IN; her 3 grandchildren; her 2 great-grandchildren; her step-grandchild; her mother-in-law: Florence Holdcroft of Vevay, IN; her sister: Margaret Turner of Florence, IN; her sister-in-law: Doris Ann Jenkins of Vevay, IN & her several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Royland A. "Roll" & Daisy (McFarland) Otter; her husband: James Russell "Jimmy" Holdcroft; her father-in-law: Arthur Russell Holdcroft; her sister: Betty Jean Adams & her nephew: George Bryant Adams.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 20, 2015, at 11:00 am, by Rev. Ron Lee, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
