Westminster – Sammy Gary Merck, 70, of Antler Drive, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at his residence.

Born in Pickens County, he was the son of Helen Louise Duncan Merck Galloway of Westminster and the late Sam Merck. Mr. Merck was a Truck Driver and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his sons, Gary Merck of Walhalla, Steve Merck of Westminster and Andy Merck and wife Denise of Walhalla; brother, Ronald Merck and wife Joyce of Westminster; stepsisters, Nancy Tooten and husband Joseph of Estelle, SC and Marsha Winn and husband O'Neil of Hampton, SC; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside service to honor the life of Mr Merck were held 3:30 pm, Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Old Abbott Cemetery in Liberty. The family received friends from 1-2 pm, Sunday, prior to the service at Sandifer Funeral Home.
