MILBURN--Graveside services for Irene Akins, 60, of Johnston County were held Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn, Rev. Scott Barnes officiating. The daughter of the late Ottie F. and Letha Viola (Jones) McGuire, she was born Sept. 25, 1945, Ravia, and died Sept. 25, 2005, in Ardmore.

A resident of Johnston County for 20 years, she attended high school in Roland snd had lived in Tulsa for 12 years. A homemaker, she married Jerry Fred Akins in Roland. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Teresa Morales of Madill and Lynn Varnado of Summitt, Miss.; two sisters, Goldie Spears of Jacksonville, N.C., and Delphia Higgs of Big Cabin; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ottis and Leroy McGuire; and a sister Wilma Mayers.

Services were directed by Watts Funeral Home, Tishomingo.
