Harry Leslie Huff was born in Sabine Co., TX to Willie Dell and Bulah B. (Wilson, Pinner) Huff. Mama Huff and Archie Bell brought him to Newton Co. when he was very young. When Leslie was 16 years old he volunteered for the US Army and was released after an injury that required a metal plate in his head. He married Jaunita Whittington, November 22, 1947. They built their home in Old Salem and raised 3 daughters; Darlene, Charlene, and Jackie. Leslie was a Welder for the shipyard in Orange, TX and a farmer at heart. He died following an operation for cancer; at age 73.
Survived by his wife and daughters, brothers and sisters, relatives and many friends.
