Beloved daughter of Yvonne and Raymond Selke, loving sister to Trevor Selke. Emily was born at Fort Belvoir, VA and was a life-long resident of Nokesville, VA. She attended Brentsville High School, and Woodbridge High School Center for the Fine and Performing Arts, where she was a member of the Choir, Choir Counsel, Physics Club, Beta Club, and National Honor Society. She was also a Student Ambassador to Australia, Choir Section Leader, Senior Class Vice President, and Girl Scout Member for Life. She graduated Woodbridge Senior High School with high honors in 2010, then attended Drexel University, where she majored in Music Industry and minored in Business Administration. She was a member of the ZETA Chapter of the Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority which honored her with its Cornerstone Award. Emily graduated from Drexel University Magnum Cum Laude in 2013. She spent the following year working in support of various Music and Arts endeavors, including the Pittsburgh and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, and the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, VA. She worked for Carr Workplaces as a Client Service Associate from January 2014 until her untimely death on a vacation to Europe with her mother. She will be deeply missed by all those touched by her kind, loving spirit and infectious good humor. A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 12975 Purcell Road, Manassas, Virginia at 11 a.m. on April 22, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St Jude Children's Hospital

A recent Drexel University graduate and her mother are reported to have been among those aboard the passenger plane that crashed in southern France on Tuesday.

Emily Selke was among the 150 who died on the Germanwings flight from Spain to Germany, according to a message her sorority, Gamma Sigma Sigma, posted on its Facebook page.

The woman's father, Raymond Selke, confirmed to the Washington Post that his wife, Yvonne Selke, and Emily were among the passengers on the flight.

Emily graduated with honors from Drexel in 2013 and was a music industry major in Drexel's Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design.

Emily Selke was a member of the Gamma Sigma Sigma Zeta sorority, and the national organization put out a statement confirming that she joined in 2011.

Victims of Germanwings Flight 9525:

Passengers from at least 15 countries were aboard the flight from Barcelona, Spain, to Düsseldorf, Germany, including 72 Germans and 35 Spaniards. Here are profiles of some of the 123 victims whose families have been notified.
