Ova was born in Stone County, Arkansas the seventh child to John Washington and Nancy Catherine (Sutterfield) BRANSCUM. She had 3 brothers and 7 sisters. She married Norman Adams on 27 Jan. 1918 in Arlberg, Stone Co., Arkansas. They came to live most of their lives in the Marianna, Lee Co., Arkansas area after living in Harrison, Boone Co., Arkansas where Norman worked for the railroad, continuing with that job in Lee County. They had one son, Haskell Alfred Adams.
