Services for Mrs. Caroline Janelle Akin Strickland will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2003 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with the Rev. W. D. Carson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Strickland of Ball died Monday, January 13, 2003 in Rapides Regional Medical Center.

She was owner of Strickland Medical Billing and Consulting Services and former President of Ward 10 Recreation District, Member of National Association of Female Executives, Member of National Association of Women Business Owners, Member of Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce, Red Coat Ambassador, Member of Central Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross, Alexandria, La., Active member of the National Chapter Enrichment Program, American Red Cross, Falls Church, Virginia, Active Member of the Coalition of Citizens with Disabilities in Illinois, Former Board Member of National Association of Investors Corp., Notary Public, Worthy Matron of J. T. Charnley Chapter #197, Order of the Eastern Star, 1990 and 1995, District Deputy Grand Worthy Matron, Order of the Eastern Star, 1991, Louisiana Grand Representative to Georgia Order of Eastern Star, member of the Daughters of the Nile, Khafra Temple-121, Shreveport, La., Charter Member and Treasurer of Agape Club, Daughters of the Nile, Alexandria, La.

She was preceded in death by her father, Silas Dalton Akin.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Robert E. Strickland of Ball, La.; son, Robert Tyler Strickland of Baton Rouge, La.; daughter, Rebecca Strickland Hotard of Pacific Grove, California; mother, Euilee Judy Tyler Akin of Readhimer; brother, Silas Randal Akin of Readhimer; sisters, Venda Vay Akin Gibson of Emory, Texas, Mary Elizabeth Akin of New Orleans, La. and Patricia Ann Akin Pardue of Creston, La.; four grandchildren, Michael Haftmann of Pineville, La., Robert Haftmann of Pineville, La., Nicole Janelle Strickland of Baton Rouge, La., and Cort Mitchell of Pollock, La.

Friends may call Wednesday at Hixson Brothers, Pineville, La. from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until service time.
