Funeral services for Bessie Lee Lakey, 92, of Bonham will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 19, 1994 at the Bonham Church of God under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Rev. Dwayne Evors will officiate. Burial will be in Dodd City Cemetery.
Mrs. Lakey died Wednesday, August 17, 1994 at Fairview Nursing Home.
Mrs. Lakey was born in Amity, AR, June 9, 1902, the daughter of Bill Dillard and Nevada Franklin Dillard.
She married Virgil H. Lakey in 1920 in Paris, Tx. and he preceded her in death April 10, 1072.
She was a homemaker and had been a member of the Bonham Church of God for over 60 years.
She was preceded in death by three children, Carl Sephus Lakey, Thelma Jo Lakey and Euless E. Lakey.
Survivors are: five sons, Willie Arthur Lakey of Almogordo, NM., Clarence R. Lakey of Windom, Roy T. Lakey, Ravenna, Jimmy L. Lakey, Irving, Billy L. Lakey of Brashear, TX; three daughters, Virgie Stroud of Bonham, Vena Craig, Windom and Ella Caughron of Gilmer; two sisters, Esta Lee Moss of Bonham and Hedi Jinks of Joplin, MO; 32 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
Her grandsons will be pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 1994.
