DALLASTOWN — Clarence E. Ness, 88, of 353 W. Main St., died Sunday at York Hospital.
He was the husband of Ursula E. Poet Ness.
Mr. Ness was born in Adamsville, York Township, and was a son of the late Henry and Alice Ness.
He was a manager with the former First National Bank of Dallastown for 50 years and then was employed by Associated Grocers of York for 13 years.
Mr. Ness was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and taught the Young Men's Sunday School Class for 30 years. He was a charter member of Dallas-Katahdin Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the American Association of Retired Persons, and was a volunteer worker for the Salvation Army for 25 years.
Survivors include:
One daughter — Mrs. Lorna Hengst, Jacobus.
One son — Myron E. Ness, Philadelphia.
Four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Church, 109 E. Main St. The Rev. Ronald E. Bowersox will officiate. Burial will be in Dallastown Union Cemetery.
Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home Inc., 104 W. Main St., is in charge of arrangements.

NESS — On March 27, 1983, at the York Hospital, Clarence E. Ness, husband of Ursula E. Poet Ness of 353 W. Main St., Dallastown, aged 88 years.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday from Bethlehem United Methodist, 109 E. Main St., Dallastown. Interment in Dallastown Union Cemetery.
There will be a viewing Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 from the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Dallastown, and also at the church prior to services.
