Mary C. Burns, 76, of Kellogg St., Clinton, passed away Sept. 27 in Faxton Chlldren's Hospital after a short illness.
She was born in Naugatuck, Conn., on Dec. 2, 1903, daughter of Michael and Anna Vrabel Ellis.
As a young girl, she moved to Clinton, where she was raised and educated.
On May 13, 1925, she married Patrick F. Burns at St. Mary's Church in Clinton.
Mr. Burns died Dec. 23,1968.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Zasa and Joan Burns, both of Utica;
five sons, Thomas, Robert, William and Vincent Burns, all of Clinton, and Lawrence Burns, of New Hartford;
one sister, Rose Soper, of Clinton;
and three brothers, Steven, Francis and George Ellis, all of Clinton.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sons, Michael, in 1953, and Patrick Jr., in 1976.
Her funeral was held at the Heintz Funeral Home, Clinton, and at St. Mary's Church, where a mass of
Christian burial was celebrated.
Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
